Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about meta tags and SEO.

What is the ideal length for a title tag?

Google typically displays the first 50-60 characters of a title tag. Aim for 50-60 characters to ensure your full title appears in search results. Titles longer than 60 characters may be truncated with an ellipsis.

How long should a meta description be?

Meta descriptions should be between 120 and 160 characters. Google may display up to 160 characters on desktop and about 120 on mobile. Descriptions that are too short miss an opportunity to attract clicks; too long and they get truncated.

Why are Open Graph tags important?

Open Graph tags control how your page appears when shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, and other platforms. Without them, these platforms will try to guess your title and image, often producing unattractive previews that reduce click-through rates.

Do I need both Open Graph and Twitter Card tags?

Twitter will fall back to Open Graph tags if no Twitter Card tags are present. However, setting both gives you full control over how your content appears on each platform. At minimum, set Open Graph tags and optionally add twitter:card for the card type.
