IP Geolocation

Find the geographic location, ISP, timezone, and network details for any IP address or domain.

IP Geolocation Features

Locate any IP address or domain and retrieve detailed network information.

Precise Location

Get city, region, and country for any IP address with data sourced from multiple geolocation providers.

ISP & Organization

Identify the Internet Service Provider and the organization that owns the IP address range.

Timezone Detection

Determine the timezone associated with an IP address, useful for scheduling and localization.

Domain Resolution

Enter a domain name and we automatically resolve it to an IP before performing the geolocation lookup.

How It Works

Three simple steps to geolocate any IP address or domain.

1

Enter IP or Domain

Type an IP address like 8.8.8.8 or a domain like google.com. Domains are automatically resolved to their IP first.

2

Query Geolocation Databases

We query multiple geolocation providers to retrieve the most accurate location, ISP, and network data available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about IP geolocation and how it works.

How accurate is IP geolocation?

IP geolocation is typically accurate to the city level for most commercial ISPs, with accuracy rates around 80-90% for city-level and 95-99% for country-level. However, accuracy can vary significantly. VPN users, mobile networks, and satellite connections may show the location of the network provider rather than the actual user. Enterprise IPs often geolocate to corporate headquarters rather than the office where the connection originates.

Why does a domain show a different location than expected?

When you look up a domain, it resolves to the IP address of the hosting server, not the domain owner's physical location. A company based in Germany could host their website on a server in the United States, so the geolocation result would show a US location. CDN services like Cloudflare can also cause domains to resolve to edge servers in various locations around the world.

What is the difference between ISP and Organization?

The ISP (Internet Service Provider) field identifies the company providing internet connectivity for that IP range, such as Comcast, AT&T, or Deutsche Telekom. The Organization field identifies the entity that has been allocated or assigned the IP address block, which could be the ISP itself or a business that owns its own IP space. For large companies, these may differ — the org might be the company while the ISP is their upstream provider.

Can I look up my own IP address?

Yes. You can find your public IP by searching 'what is my IP' in any search engine, then enter that IP into this tool to see its geolocation details. Note that your public IP is assigned by your ISP and may change periodically if you have a dynamic IP address. The location shown will typically be near your ISP's local routing infrastructure, not your exact street address.
